PAT Research Project Incentive Award Application Deadline: February 17, 2025
PAT Research Project Incentive Award
This is an award program organized by the Turkish Psychiatric Association (PAT) to encourage high-quality scientific research. The 3 most successful research projects among the applicants will receive incentives.
Our esteemed researchers will have the opportunity to present their research projects, engage in productive discussions with their colleagues, receive feedback, and compete for financial support for their projects.
We invite all PAT member researchers to prepare a project for the PAT Research Project Incentive Award and participate in the PAT 3rd International and 27th Clinical Education Symposium to present their projects.
Award Application Conditions
- The Project Manager must be a PAT member and have paid their membership dues up to and including 2025.
- A principal investigator who has previously won the PAT Research Project Incentive Award cannot reapply for the Research Project Incentive Award without submitting a report to the Association Center stating that they have completed their award-winning work.
- Approval of the research evaluation board (ethics committee) suitable for the study must be included in the application.
- The application file must include a document officially stating that the principal investigator is a candidate for the award, addressed to the MYK. For an example of the "Research Project Incentive Award Application Petition," please click on the link.
- The application file must include a document stating that each of the researchers involved in the project has approved the application (a document sent to the applicant and showing the address of the sending team member, with a wet or e-signature).
- The research experience of each researcher on the proposed topic and how they will contribute to the research at which stage should be summarized and signed by all researchers.
- The name of the proposing institution must be stated; the proposal must be approved by the proposing institution's authority (the proposals of faculty members by the faculty deans or the chief physicians of the training hospitals).
- Acceptance of the statement "This research was carried out with the support of the PAT Research Project Incentive Award" in the publication if the PAT Research Project Incentive Award is won and used, and if the research is published.
- Research projects that win the Project Incentive Award must be started within 8 months at the latest, and an interim report must be submitted for the evaluation of the OYK at the next PAT KES.
The application file must include the following:
- The text of the research project,
- In completed research, a signed document officially stating that the first author, in research projects, the principal investigator is a candidate for the award and that the same research has not been previously submitted for another PAT award, addressed to the MYK, "Research Project Incentive Award Application Petition" example, please click on the link.
- A document showing the awards and incentives received by the executive and researchers who applied for the award/incentive from PAT in the last 5 years,
- A document stating that each of the other authors/researchers involved in the project has approved the application and the order of authorship (a document sent to the applicant and showing the address of the sending team member, with a wet or e-signature),
- A document signed by all researchers summarizing the research experience of each researcher on the proposed topic and how they will contribute to the research at which stage,
- A document stating the name of the proposing institution; indicating that it has been approved by the proposing institution's authority (the proposals of faculty members by the faculty deans or the chief physicians of the training hospitals),
- A document of ethics committee approval including the authors; If there is a difference between the information specified in the Ethics Committee approval and the award application, the responsible author applying for the award shall make a statement about the difference, and the signature showing that the application has been approved by the persons determined as rights holders in the ethics committee approval shall be shown.
- Signed declaration that PAT member researchers have no dues debt. This document should include a screenshot from the head office e-mail or the PAT website.
Deadline for Application
The deadline for application for the Research Project Incentive Award is February 17, 2025.
Application
The Project Manager must upload the application file, prepared in accordance with the General Application Conditions defined in the PAT Award Directive* and the special conditions defined for the Research Project Incentive Award, to the Research Project Incentive Award Application system by February 17, 2025, at the latest.
In the system, you must add your project and Award application documents as a single pdf file to the file upload section in step 8.
Evaluation Process
Applications will be evaluated by the Award Jury, and the 8 projects that pass the pre-selection and make it to the finals will be announced on March 7, 2025.
The finalist projects will be presented orally in a special session, open to congress participants, in which all jury members will be present during the congress. 15 minutes will be given for oral presentations and 5 minutes for questions and answers. Participants other than the jury members will not have the right to ask questions to the candidates.
The jury evaluation will be completed during the congress, the winning papers will be announced at the closing session, and the award certificates will be presented by the PAT President.
Text of the Research Project
The text describing the project submitted to the Türkiye Psikiyatri Derneği Research Project Incentive Award must be no more than 25 A4 pages in length.
- Project Title It should be able to reflect the topic and its important features and should not exceed 15 words.
- Keywords: 3-5 keywords should be given in Turkish.
- Project Manager: The name, surname, correspondence address, e-mail address, telephone number and signature of the project manager are required.
- Researchers: The name, surname, correspondence address, e-mail address and telephone numbers of the researchers forming the project team should be stated.
- Name of the Institution: The name of the proposing institution should be stated; the proposal should be approved by the proposing institution's authority (the proposals of faculty members by the faculty deans or the chief physicians of the training hospitals).
- Research Unit: The research unit where the project will be carried out should be briefly introduced, the equipment available in the unit and which will be used in the project work, as well as the equipment available in other units but which can be used in this study should be stated; the research and development activities carried out in the unit should be listed.
- Other Supporting Organizations: If any, only the name of each should be stated.
- Introduction: Basically covers the review of the relevant literature. The information that will justify the study to be conducted and the information based on the literature should be given here, and the important points related to the topic should be emphasized.
- Original Value: The original value of the study should be clearly stated, preferably in items, how it will contribute to the literature information given in the introduction section.
- Purpose: The purpose of the study to be conducted should be written in a clear statement, and it should be stated which deficiency in the literature it aims to address.
- Scope and Assumptions: The scope and assumptions of the proposed study should be clearly defined and their relationship with the purpose should be explained.
- Method: The method to be used in the study should be clearly defined. Sample selection, subjects, variables, measurements to be made, statistical analyzes should be explained in detail.
- Benefits of the Research: How the results will be transferred to practice; the benefits of the study should be briefly explained.
- Widespread Impact of the Research: Covers all predicted results such as articles, books, application methods, devices, training, drugs, etc. into which the findings will be transformed at the end of the research.
- Budget: The amount requested from the Turkish Psychiatric Association should be shown by distributing it to the specified items. The total monetary and/or material contributions of other supporting organizations should also be stated in a similar way.
- Start Date and Stages of the Project: The start date of the project, its main stages and timeline should be stated.
